Last week I had the enormous pleasure of going to see Old Crow Medicine Show play at Wellington's iconic opera house. Man, what a show! Aside from the fact that they are all hot country playing babes (esp. the lead vocalist!) these guys are also super talented. Their music is fun and full of life and although country at heart their music has been described as alternative, punk-count, and 'hopped-up folk'. The live show was nothing short of amazing. Very much a mixture of old and young (the old ones being boring shits who are anti anyone dancing or having a good time around them..!) by the end of the concert almost everyone (under the age of 50) had a smile on their face. Although it was a very rehearsed concert and I got the feeling that as a result of it being the end of their tour the boys were getting tired of it all, they still managed to fill the venue with life and awesomeness with the guitarist actually playing on top of his bandmates double bass at one stage!
